Yesterday, April 21, was the official closure of the second blog-related service of Yahoo! called Yahoo! Buzz.

Here is an official statement from Yahoo!:

 

Yahoo! Buzz will be discontinued as of April 21, 2011. As of this date, you will be unable to access the Yahoo! Buzz site. This was a hard decision. However this will help us focus on our core strengths and new innovations.
We appreciate your patronage.

Yahoo! Buzz was launched by Yahoo! last August 2008. Way back year 2008, Digg was the most popular social networking program that was noted to have best social news and bookmarking services, and this inspires Yahoo! and introduce Yahoo! Buzz to the public. But unfortunately, Yahoo! Buzz was not that successful as Digg, probably that is the reason why it has been closed. Digg as well is no longer as popular as it is before and is now slowly dying. Yahoo! Buzz ‘s closure is definitely the right choice for Yahoo! considering that the service has never capture the heart of most online geeks. The two years of service of Yahoo Buzz has proven that it was not at its best.
