Just recently, Samsung announced the other twin brother of Samsung Galaxy S2 as Samsung Galaxy R. Samsung Galaxy R was originally referred as Galaxy Z.

Samsung Galaxy R is typically similar to Samsung Galaxy S2, specifically on its appearance and more likely on its specifications. Samsung Galaxy R is somewhat the descent version of Samsung Galaxy S2 wherein some specifications of Galaxy S2 were dropped off without compromising its full functionality to meet some specific demands for the consumers prevailing preferences.

Samsung Galaxy R is a little bit thicker and heavier compared to Galaxy S2, it is because of its metallic and plastic frame that made it looks more sturdy. Galaxy R has a slightly smaller display of 4.2″ compared to Galaxy S2 with 4.3″. Other modification is the drop off on its cameras from 8 MP rear camera to 5 MP now still with auto focus and LED flash and from 2.0 MP front-facing to 1.3 MP. Galaxy R comes with the new Nvidia GeForce GPU, Tegra 2, 1 GHz dual-core processor replacing the 1.2 GHz Exynos of Galaxy S2 that has a 1 GB RAM and 2 GB ROM. Samsung Galaxy R runs the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread operating system.

Although Samsung Galaxy R is just a downfall of Galaxy S2, still its specs are already more than enough for your daily gigs and is still within the high class smart phone bracket. Most probably, Samsung Galaxy R is specially designed as a drop off version to Samsung Galaxy S2 for the reason that Galaxy S2 is pretty much expensive, giving the consumers options for a great Samsung Galaxy experience though not a Galaxy S2 but nearly identical to it.
