    Currently, if you want to send $500 to the Philippines (from US bank account), the fees would be https://www.ikobo.com/fees.html:

    5 – bank account transfer fee
    11.95 – one time visa card shipping fee for FedEx
    1.99 – ATM withdrawal fee
    TOTAL = US$18.94

    There’s also a monthly maintenance fee for the Visa card. This fee is charged monthly for as long as there’s a balance maintained. It makes sense then to tell your recipient to withdraw the ENTIRE amount once instead of leaving some amount behind. Withdrawing once also makes sense because, otherwise, you’re going to be charged $1.99 each time an ATM withdrawal is made.
